This website uses cookies

We use cookies to personalise content and ads, to provide social media features and to analyse our traffic. We also share information about your use of our site with our social media, advertising and analytics partners who may combine it with other information that you’ve provided to them or that they’ve collected from your use of their services.

Cookie Policy

What are cookies?

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your computer or mobile device when you visit the site.

  • First party cookies are cookies set by the website you're visiting. Only that website can read them. In addition, a website might potentially use external services, which also set their own cookies, known as third-party cookies.
  • Persistent cookies are cookies saved on your computer and that are not deleted automatically when you quit your browser, unlike a session cookie, which is deleted when you quit your browser.

Every time you visit our websites, you will be prompted to accept or refuse cookies. The purpose is to enable the site to remember your preferences (such as user name, language, etc.) for a certain period of time. That way, you don't have to re-enter them when browsing around the site during the same visit.

Cookies can also be used to establish anonymised statistics about the browsing experience on our sites.

How do we use cookies?

Currently, there are four types of cookies that may be generated as you browse our site: Strictly Necessary, Statistics, Preference and Marketing cookies.

1. Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are essential for you to browse the website and use its features, such as accessing secure areas of the site. Cookies that allow web shops to hold your items in your cart while you are shopping online are an example of strictly necessary cookies. These cookies will generally be first-party session cookies. While it is not required to obtain consent for these cookies, what they do and why they are necessary are explained in the table below.

How do I control Strictly Necessary Cookies?

You can use your browser settings to control whether or not we set session cookies. More information on your browser settings is provided at the bottom of this page.

Please be aware that these cookies are critical to the efficient working of the site. If you choose to disable these cookies from this site, the functionality of the site may be greatly reduced.

2. Statistics Cookies

Also known as "performance cookies," these cookies collect information about how you use a website, like which pages you visited and which links you clicked on. None of this information can be used to identify you. It is all aggregated and, therefore, anonymized. Their sole purpose is to improve website functions. This includes cookies from third-party analytics services as long as the cookies are for the exclusive use of the owner of the website visited.

Statistical information is used in reports and to improve our site. For example, we have used analytics data to add, remove or change features of the site based on how popular they are with users.

We track, for example:

  • the numbers of visitors to individual pages;
  • when pages were visited;
  • how long users stayed on the page;
  • the IP address of the user of the website;
  • the page they came from;
  • technical data about the device being used to browse the site (such as browser and operating system version, and display size) — we use this data to ensure that the technology our site uses is appropriate for the majority of our users, and how best to display the site for users who have less capable browsers.

More information about Statistics cookies

We use cookies from different partners including Google to provide our analytics data. You can read more about how Google Analytics treats your data on their web site. You can also read Google's full privacy policy.

How do I control Statistics cookies?

Google provides a tool to opt-out of Google Analytics. This is available for all modern browsers in the form of a browser plugin. Additionally, you can control how cookies are set using your browser settings.

3. Preference cookies

Also known as "functionality cookies," these cookies allow a website to remember choices you have made in the past, like what language you prefer, whether you have accepted our cookie policy, what region you would like weather reports for, or what your user name and password are so you can automatically log in.

4. Marketing cookies

The advertisements you see displayed on this, and other, sites are generated by third parties. These services may use their own anonymous cookies to track how many times a particular ad has been displayed to you and may track your visits to other sites where their ads are displayed. Please note that advertisers can only track visits to sites which display their ads or other content. This tracking is anonymous, meaning that they do not identify who is viewing which ads.

Tracking in this manner allows advertisers to show you ads that are more likely to be interesting to you, and also limit the number of times you see the same ad across a wide number of sites. As an example of how advertisers operate, if you recently researched holidays, adverts for holiday operators may subsequently appear on our sites.

We do not have access to, or control over, these third party cookies; nor can we view the data held by these advertisers. Online advertisers provide ways for you to opt-out of your browsing being tracked. More information about the advertisers we use, and how to opt-out, is provided below.

We display clips from Youtube related to our purchase opportunities. You can view Youtubes's privacy policy on their website. This page also allows you to control what cookies YouTube saves on your computer.

We work with Google to optimise how Google ads are displayed. You can discover how Google protects your privacy relating to ads at its privacy policy.

Maitre du Temps: A Collaborative Approach to Traditional Watchmaking

Maîtres du Temps, translating to “Masters of Time”, is a name that conjures images of exquisite craftsmanship, unparalleled exclusivity, and the art of watchmaking. Founded in 2005 by Steven Holtzman, Maîtres du Temps is not just a watch brand but a concept that brings together some of the world's most renowned independent watchmakers to collaborate on unique timepieces that push the boundaries of watchmaking artistry and innovation.

A Legacy Embedded in a Symbol

The symbol chosen for Maîtres du Temps—a tree with innumerable branches—reflects the fertile nature of the brand’s creative process. The image of the tree expresses the evolution of Maîtres du Temps through the passage of time, with each branch representing a new concept, a new meeting of hearts and minds, and bearing astonishing timepieces.

The Genesis of Maîtres du Temps

The inception of Maîtres du Temps was driven by Holtzman's vision to create a platform where the greatest minds in watchmaking could come together, combining their unique skills and perspectives to craft watches that were not just time-telling devices but pieces of art. The brand's name, French for "Masters of Time," reflects its mission to transcend time through the creation of watches that are timeless in their beauty and complexity. The central theme around the masters of time was first realized and revealed in Geneva in 2008 where master watchmakers Christophe Claret, Roger Dubuis, and Peter Speake-Marin came together.

The Art of Collaboration

What sets Maîtres du Temps apart from other luxury watch brands is its collaborative approach. By bringing together master watchmakers, each with their own unique style and expertise, the brand has been able to produce watches that are innovative, complex, and beautifully crafted. These collaborations have resulted in some of the most sophisticated and visually stunning timepieces in the world, including the Chapter One, Chapter Two, and Chapter Three series.

Chapter Series: A Testament to Craftsmanship

  • Chapter One: Unveiled in 2008, the Chapter One watch is a masterpiece that combines multiple complications, including a tourbillon, mono-pusher chronograph, retrograde date, and moon phase indicator. This watch was the result of collaboration among Christophe Claret, Peter Speake-Marin, and Roger Dubuis, three of the most celebrated names in contemporary watchmaking.

  • Chapter Two: The successor to Chapter One, Chapter Two, introduced the world to the highest level of technical achievement in terms of calendar complications, featuring a big date, day of the week, and moon phase. This timepiece was a collaboration between Daniel Roth and Peter Speake-Marin and is the world's most legible calendar mechanical wristwatch, as well as the world's first unabbreviated triple calendar mechanical wristwatch. In this short documentary, the founders delve deeper into the development of this exceptional timepiece.

In our most recent investment project with our haute horology expert, the Watch Fund, the Konvi community has purchased a 1-of-1 Maitres du Temps Chapter two with a factory-engraved 18K gold case worth USD 110,000.

  • Chapter Three: A marvel of horological engineering, Chapter Three showcases a reveal mechanism that allows the wearer to switch between two completely different sets of complications with the push of a button. This innovation was brought to life by the combined genius of Kari Voutilainen and Andreas Strehler.

The Master Watchmakers

  • Christophe Claret is a name synonymous with innovative watchmaking, known for his mastery in creating complex movements and striking mechanisms with playful elements. His globally recognized design of the first watch with an integrated music box as well as the Blackjack 21 that included a roulette and blackjack mechanism.
  • Peter Speake-Marin has a reputation for blending traditional craftsmanship with modern design, resulting in watches that are both timeless and innovative. His expertise was utilized in the final stages for the release of the MB&F’s Horological Machine No.1, where he oversaw the quality control.
  • Roger Dubuis was celebrated for his avant-garde approach to watch design and his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of Swiss excellence with his extensive experience developing complications Patek Philippe.
  • Daniel Roth is revered for his classical approach to watchmaking and is known for his complex and detailed watches, including a tourbillon with an 8-day power reserve. Recognized and credited as one of the creators of what is now considered the "Breguet look" Roth left, when the brand was sold, after 14 years.
  • Kari Voutilainen is admired for his dedication to the finest details and his skill in finishing, which is considered among the best in the world as altogether ten of his watches have been awarded The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.
  • Andreas Strehler is known for his technical prowess and has been instrumental in developing some of the most complex watch mechanisms in existence. In 2013, Strehler received the Prix Gaïa from the International Watch Museum (MIH) in La Chaux-de-Fonds in the "Artisanat-Création" category for his technical and artistic creations

The Exclusivity of Maîtres du Temps

Maîtres du Temps watches are highly exclusive, with each piece being produced in limited quantities to ensure the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. This exclusivity is not just about scarcity; it's about owning a piece of horological history, a testament to the collaborative spirit of some of the greatest minds in watchmaking.

In Conclusion

Maîtres du Temps represents a unique fusion of artistry, innovation, and collaboration in the world of haute horology. The brand’s commitment to bringing together the finest watchmakers to create exceptional timepieces has resulted in a legacy of watches that are not just tools for measuring time but are treasures to be cherished for generations. Through their unparalleled craftsmanship and the sheer beauty of their designs, Maîtres du Temps watches are a true celebration of mastery over time.
